Luckily, sites such as torrentz.com use the torrent hash as part of the URL. Using this, we can create a magnet link, and get firefox to pass this off to its default application, which should be your primary torrent client. This will in turn use uTP or some similar protocol to retrieve the torrent file from DHT or the trackers you specify in the options (it comes with two as default), and then let you use the newly acquired torrent to download whatever you wanted to begin with.
